Coffee Mates

We visited the Britt Coffee Company today, about 30 minutes from the house where we are staying. It is a beautifully run company for conceiving and achieving a mission. The coffee is good too.

We spent all afternoon with Steve and Jamie. Had great conversations about life as an alien in a foreign country. Steve and Jamie, like all new missionaries, are learning to deal with culture shock and adapting to their new place. They are doing a great job of this, but I'd love you to be praying for them in the process. Their ministry in the name of Jesus is dependent on their ability to thrive in this new and different environment.

I am learning the enormous value of visiting our missionaries on their turf. I've learned so much about how the church can help and encourage our team members abroad. I can't share details here due to the confidential nature of our conversations, but I am so pleased with the chance to connect with our teams. Thank you for making this possible. Please continue to pray for wisdom for Donna and me as we listen, learn and give whatever counsel might be helpful to our friends and colleagues.

Thanks. Grace,
Brad

OK, Brad and Donna - Don't forget to breath and enjoy all of God's beauty while you work on supporting and transforming lives. Couldn't sleep (still thinking about that beautiful waterfall) so I thought I would visit your site and wish you peace and health and God's grace in your travels.

I can't wait to hear about how we can support our missionaries abroad. Stay safe and will check on you soon.

Hi Brad and Donna,
Thanks so much for your heart to encourage your international staff. We hope that we can be an encouragement to you as well!

Rodger went through the surgery well but is in alot of pain. We had a unique "divine appointment so that was really cool!

Can't wait to hear more about the coffee company. Always good to hear more about what businesses are doing in mission.

Love,
Schmidts

Hi Brad, Donna and Bethany,

Been thinking 'bout you guys lots and praying even more.

Glad to see the pics and read the stories. I am excited to see what God has in store for you on this trip.... it seems His ways are at work even 1000's of miles from home...He is a Great God!!!

Thank you for showing me (us) how to lead and be lead, how to trust and to risk, how to teach and be taught.... I appreciate how wlling you are to "put it out there" in His name.

Im also excited to see how your travels advance His purpose back here too... until then, the joy of Phillipians 1:27-28 keeps coming back to me...

Standing Firm!

Love and continued prayers,

Jeff, Lorri, Nick and Taylor

Brad and Donna,

Can you share what you see as the tangible differences on what is actually needed in supporting local missionaries verses what your pre conceived ideas were before you left.

Hi Brad,

I just got caught up on all your blogs. I was looking at the picture of you, Donna, and Bethany. It reminds me of a TV show or movie where "twins" are on the same set but it's just camera magic. In your case, it looks like you're with your wife and Donna when she was 17th. I'll bet that was a great reunion to see Bethany. Looking foward to hearing your full reports in June.
